Y Mobility at the “Low Carbon Vehicle Event 2019”

The Low Carbon Vehicle Event was a 2 day event being held from 4th September to 5th September 2019 at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedford, United Kingdom!

The event showcased a variety of products like any other Technology exhibition but also facilitated networking with the low carbon community and offered information on Ride & drive of the latest research & development and commercially available vehicles.

Cenex-LCV is the UK’s premier low carbon vehicle event incorporating four keys features:

  • Technology exhibition
  • Extensive seminar programme
  • Facilitated networking with the low carbon community
  • Ride & drive of the latest research & development and commercially available vehicles

LCV is run by Cenex, the UK’s first centre of excellence for low carbon and fuel cell technologies with assistance from Supporting Partners including the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, the Office for Low Emission Vehicles, the Department for International Trade, the Advanced Propulsion Centre, the Automotive Council, Innovate UK, the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, the Meridian Mobility UK, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, and Transport Systems Catapult.

Cenex prides itself on ensuring the decision makers of the UK industry attend the event with all major stakeholders, key manufacturers, supply chain representatives and government officials from the UK present and we were honoured to be invited.

The balance between investment and business strategy and technology was very visible at the event hence offering many opportunities to start-ups and investors alike. In addition, the evolution and progress from last years’ event we also attended was evidently noticeable by all attendees.
The event included a 30 thought-provoking and inspirational short talks from some of the most influential and creative minds in the UK automotive industry will take centre stage for the first time on the UK Government Pavilion at this year’s Low Carbon Vehicle Show (LCV2019). Some of the ones we attended were:

–        Ian Constance. CEO-Advanced Propulsion Centre UK, talking about taking the Road to Zero.

–        Tony Harper. Industrial Strategy Challenge Director, Faraday Battery Challenge, UKRI

He talked about Leading the Electric Revolution.

–        Matt Boyle OBE. Interim Challenge Director- Driving the Electric Revolution

He was the speaker about Accelerating the Growth of the UK’s PEMD Supply Chain – Driving the Electric Revolution.

–        Mark Cracknell. Head of Technology- Zenzic. Who was talking about “From Hype to Reality: The UK connected and Automated Mobility Roadmap 2030”

Conclusively, it was an honour to be invited and attend the show. Not only were we given the chance to network with many like-minded peers in the Tech industry but also exchange valuable ideas and information .The level of innovation we saw was incredible and the majority (if not all) individuals and companies demonstrating were passionate about the future of mobility.

We look forward to next year’s event which we will most definitely not only be attending but also advising our key partners and clients to also attend.
